The discussion revolves a lot on the technicality of the recent directives from UP government but lacks proper discussion regrading the demand of the question.
Simple direction to the question is:
Give instances of recent granting quota
Give constitutional Criteria for granting quota
Discuss why there is a rise in such quota
Suggest challenges due to this
Conclude suggesting some way forward.

DO mention other instances like Maratha quote etc.

Apart from that, everything is covered in nice manner.

Hi Ashok
After intro, do discuss some of the features of the proposed Automated Facial Recognition System and its intended application as mentioned by the National Crime Records Bureau.
Do mention more points in the expected benefits of the system. Right now, the points are less and general.
Rest of the answer is OK.
Good concluding statements.

Hi Pranita
Very comprehensive discussion.
But in terms of structure, after intro, do discuss some of the features of the proposed Automated Facial Recognition System and its intended application as mentioned by the National Crime Records Bureau.
I am not sure whether the proposed system will help us in health care sector. Please read the model answer in this regard.
Quite a good language and statements are well placed.

Sir you mentioned about not writing long paragraphs in my answers but i do so only in questions where the directive word is “critically analyse” as it allows me to express the issue in one go
Please tell me how to modify this approach so i can give the answer both and interesting and a fresh look (as we see in editorials mostly)
Thank you

Editorials and mains answer have same content but their presentation is different. Paragraph style is more suited for essay paper and but there also focus is on short paragraphs. Read the answers of noira khan or varsha chauhan or kunal agarwal. They have discussed the same content like you but their presentation is different.
Or simply read the model answers. See that they have bullet point approach in them.

Hi Mohsin
Your direction is on the right track but there is some issues with presentation and structure.
You have tried to change some of your technique which is evident in the 1st part of the answer.
But after intro, do discuss some of the features of the proposed Automated Facial Recognition System and its intended application as mentioned by the National Crime Records Bureau.
Read the model answer in this regard.
In this 2nd part, your ling paragraphs and long statements comes back again. Avoid it.
Also do mention in concrete form that what are the issues with the AFRS. Read the model answer for this too.
Very good way forwards and their categorisation is top notch.

Better intro is needed. Right now it is not related to the demand. For better approach, whenever a question has three distinct sub questions attached to it, then rather than using intro, use the 1st part of the question and discuss that as your intro. That will save your time and space and this is the better approach for such kinds of questions.
Hence rather than discussing the differences, define both of them in two separate short paragraphs and that would be your intro of the answer. That way you wont have to discuss the differences separately.
In the 2nd part, very lengthy paragraph and it looks as if never ending discussion on tribal question. Give a break between the 1st part of the paragraph and the example regarding animal and DM….
In the last part, discussion is required in terms of in “ethical parlance”. So you should have kept this in mind.

Lengthy 1st half.
In the intro itself you have to introduce the issue of UP and Maharashtra Quota. That should be done and dusted in the intro itself.
Then in the 1st part of the main body, discuss what are the salient provisions regarding reservation and how these measures from the states hurt those provisions.
What is the reason for this growing trend of going beyond those provisions?
What is the side effect of these steps by various governments?
You had to discuss these in the 1st parts of the answer which was not done properly.
2nd part is comparatively better handled.
Better way forward.

Hi Utkarsh
You dont have to discuss reasons for the reservation after intro.
In the intro, do mention recent issues in reservation system like EWS, Maratha quota and UP Government’s decision to gve SC status to various OBC castes.
Yadavs in Bihar and UP did not come out on street? They were in OBC list since starting. Avoid these factually incorrect statements.
The question is not about the analysis of demands of better placed castes for reservation.
Its about recent decisions made my states for the reservation which has effected the dynamics of reservation and its constitutionality.
What is the reason for this growing trend of going beyond those provisions?
What is the side effect of these steps by various governments?
You had to discuss these in the 1st parts of the answer which was not done properly.
You lost the demand of the question. Read it carefully.

The intro is quite lengthy and have some unnecessary discussion. You can remove half of the discussion there.
It would have been better if you divided your answer into various subheadings like neolithic, chalcolithic, Harappan, vedic, post vedic era and discussed the pottery in such trends.
Your discussion’s direction is good but there are many things which should not be there in the answer or whose absence would not have affected the answer.
Language is decent and good use of diagram.

These two paragraphs are making your intro quite bulky and stretched.
You could have discussed a bot more about relevance of pottery in telling us about the society of that era. Like how they showed us prevalence of agriculture, trade, social stratification etc.

You can use the example as your second para and make the intro smaller.
Your discussion in the 1st and 2nd parts of the question are well placed but the last part where you were supposed to discuss the ethical angle needs more content and discussion which is lacking presently.
Example of genital mutilation is OK but do give examples quoting tribal experiences. That will be more relevant for the answer.
Overall good discussion but do work on the missing 3rd part.

Its not Mandal Case. Its Indra Sawhney & Others Vs.Union Of India case.
The answer is in bits and pieces and there is no proper structure.
Your intro has to simply mention the recent events regarding granting of reservation in various states by central government which goes against the constitutional set up.
Then do mention the constitutional mandate regarding measures and what is the reason for the rise in such quota and then suggest challenges due to this
You have mentioned implications but your discussion on the reasons are very general and poor.
Agriculture growth, unemployment, low growth rate, skewed delivery of social sector schemes etc. are the reasons.
Read the answer of Kunal Agarwal to know how to approach this question.
Way forwards are quite weak.

But instead you should have discussed how pottery of different era reflected about the culture and prevalent system of the society and what were those.
There are mentions of this in the 1st paragraph of the last page, thus you have given more than 2 pages to discuss some other aspects of pottery; but the answer should have focused solely on this facet of the pottery.
You have to mention those trends and prevalent systems throughout your answer.

Hi Avani
You dont have to discuss the cases regarding the reservation.
In the intro, mention the recent cases where state governments or central governments have pushed for reservation like Maharashtra, UP, EWS Quota etc.
Why are we seeing this demand of reservation?
Your answer is in bits and pieces and it is lacking the necessary flow. This is more like start stop answer. Points are placed in haphazard manner.
Simple structure of the answer is:
Give instances of recent granting quota
Give constitutional Criteria for granting quota
discuss why there is a rise in such quota
suggest challenges due to this
Conclude suggesting some way forward.

Avoid paragraph based presentation and even if you are using it then kindly use sub headings. It will be better in the mains answers.

Answer suffers from over explanation and over discussion.

No need of these kinds of intro if you are not linking the topic of the question in it. There has to be some sort of linkage in the intro.
There are some good points in the answer but overall answer lacks depth and it ends abruptly.
Explain Automated Facial Recognition System.
Discuss some of the features of the proposed Automated Facial Recognition System and its intended application as mentioned by the National Crime Records Bureau.
Give positives of technology
Give negatives of it.
Conclude suggesting a way forward opting for a middle path.
