Hi Prakhar

Your overall discussion is fine.
To add weight to your answer, briefly mention what were the erstwhile populations control policies of GoI and why did they failed. Focus more should be on the role of coercion and putting female participation on the forefront in this coercion tactics.
Points discussed in the answer are decent and explanation crisp.
Good way forwards.
keep writing.

Good intro.
While you tried to mention points regarding why farmers are not getting due returns, also mention points like Inefficient price signals; Limited reach of mandis; Too many intermediaries, information asymmetry; Backward and Forward Linkages Issues like Inadequate infrastructure for storage; Skewed distribution of capacity; Lack of cold storage infrastructure; Lack of collateral management options etc.

Also do not take a mini paragraph to explain your points in the bullet format. Mention the issue and just try to explain them in a couple of statements and move to the next bullet point. This way you can inculcate a lot of points in your answers.

The premise of the answer is based on the idea of pvt investment and yet you did not discussed the points with depth. For example how will farmers get assured return on produce or improve quality of produce with pvt investment? Write couple of statements regarding these points.

Points in the 2nd part are general and average with no depth. Read the model answer.
What is the way forward?

Give some more insights about the topic in the intro.
Your answer lacks enough discussion in the needed direction of the answer.
You touched the issue just from the above and ended it without elaborating the debate between moral dilemma of nuclear weapon and world peace.
The ideal approach would have been:

First part of the answer should bring out how the issue of nuclear weapons has its own moral dimensions.
Then one should examine the different ethical dimensions of the statement. They may be:
– Stability in world affairs v/s always living under fear.
– If Nuclear weapons in themselves are moral or immoral
– From the point of view of Utilitarianism and deontology.
– Money for weapons v/s money for poor and other developmental objectives

Read the model answer in this regard.

Hi Pranab

Intro is decent but do mention in couple of statements as in what changes these colonizers brought with themselves which was missing in the earlier styles in India. It should not be a lengthy discussion, just a couple of statements.
Rest of the answer is near perfect with enough details and discussions and examples.
Language and presentation of the answer is really satisfactory,
Overall decent answer.

Do not give all this details of global importance. Give due importance towards points related to India.
The key word of the question is: “contain growth of population without use of coercion.”
hence do not discuss the challenges of growing population with such great length. After discussing few points on the key findings of the report, again just briefly discuss the challenges of this population overgrowth and then give main focus on the part where you have to discuss the policies and programs adopted by the government why it failed (due to coercion tactics).
What is the way forward? You failed to mention them too because the er is clearly asking the “solutions which are not coercive. ”
Always try to focus your answers on the expected line of the question. Read them carefully and try not to be too generic with your approach.

Good 2nd part but do not over explain as mentioned above. You have to give maximum points possible. Write as many points as you know but write only 1-2 line about that point. It’s always better to cover more points than to write few points in detail.

Good conclusion.

Hi Parth

First discuss the key findings of the report.

The key word of the question is: “contain growth of population without use of coercion.” hence do not discuss the challenges of growing population with such great length. Discuss it only briefly.

Give main focus on the part where you have to discuss the policies and programs adopted by the government why it failed (due to coercion tactics).

Good 2nd part of the answer and way forwards are decent. Read the questions carefully and try to stick to the demand of the question.

Always try to link the main issue of the question (pvt investment in agriculture) in your intro.
Good points in the 1st part. You covered almost all the necessary points.
Both the parts are managed well here and discussion is short yet effective. Points are solid.
Decent coverage.

Your answer has quite substantive points and conclusion was also good.
But you have written less points and focus on writing with wider coverage in ethics answers.
Both sides of the arguments are presented in real good manner but lack of points makes this an editorial kind of answer.

Your 1st part is all inclusive and exhaustive.
The food thing with your answers is that it creates minimum fuss and yet covers and explains almost all the necessary elements of the question. Good work in the 1st part.
Better and more points are needed in the 2nd part where you discussed the role of pvt investment.
Points like Integrated cold chain solutions; Alternate marketplaces; Reducing the information asymmetry; Innovative ICT tools for supply chain management etc need to be mentioned in this part along with what you mentioned.
Good conclusion.

Hi Kunal
Discussion would have been decent if the demand the question was “Debate around demographic dividend”. But the demand is that you have to discuss the key findings of the report first. then quite briefly discuss the challenges pose by this over population. Then comes the main part of the answer where you were supposed to discuss the issues with the earlier policies and programs of the governments and how their coercive nature failed them. hence your way forwards should also be on the same line: how not to use coercive tactics and yet handle this growing issue of population
Good conclusion.

Please try to upload in the portrait mode.
Lengthy intro. Divide it into 2 parts and discuss the findings of the report after intro.
One of the perhaps only answer where someone discussed the policies adopted by the governments in all these years!!! Keep it up.
In the discussion of why these policies failed, try to focus more on the part of coercion.
Good 2nd part. Points are exhaustive and solid.
All in all, good and decent attempt. Most of the students lost the track of the question and did not addressed the required and relevant points. You did it. Keep it up.

Do not write lengthy paragraphs like you did in the concluding paragraph.
Try to focus on moral and ethical dilemmas of the nuclear weapon issue.
The ideal approach would have been:
-Stability in world affairs v/s always living under fear.
– If Nuclear weapons in themselves are moral or immoral
– From the point of view of Utilitarianism and deontology.
– Money for weapons v/s money for poor and other developmental objectives

You discussed some of these points but read the model answer for better understanding of the answer.

Join the 1st two paragraphs together to create an unified intro which will be more suitable to the demand of the question, in terms of content as well as structure.
The main body is quite balanced with discussion on both sides of the arguments.
Points discussed in the pvt investment’s angles from both sides are satisfactory and enough.
Good conclusion.
Overall, near perfect answer in all the departments.

Always try to link the main issue of the question (pvt investment in agriculture) in your intro. Briefly mention it so that you can tell the examiner what he/she should expect in the coming main body of the answer.

Good use of flowchart and points re decent. But you can extra important points like Limited reach of mandis; Too many intermediaries, information asymmetry; Backward and Forward Linkages Issues like Inadequate infrastructure for storage; Skewed distribution of capacity; Lack of cold storage infrastructure; Lack of collateral management options etc.

In questions regarding agri, these form the backbone of all your discussion so keep these points in mind.

Good answer from there on.
You have used the keywords, required for agri based answers, really well.
Decent last part.
Apart from the suggestions that i gave regarding extra inputs in the 1st part, test of the answer is pitch perfect and nothing should be done to alter it. Keep it up.
