Model Answer:
This popular statement by Swami Vivekananda denotes the approach that a good leader should follow while leading. No doubt, a leader should be influential to guide his team but at the same time the most important is the ability not to put himself forward to others.
He should accept his faults and not turn aggressive or violent when things go wrong. The leaders should be servant of his all team members but do not try to govern them by exercising over power.
He should not keep his personal interests over and above the interest of the team members.
Today, the leaders are trying to exercise their rule through coercive means by dictating the crowd. At particular times, when the situations don’t go as per their will they even become aggressive and put their self-ego forward.
This results in many difficult situations later. So, it is essential to avoid such conflicts and to demonstrate the effective leadership. For this, the leader should be polite and humble and accept his faults and mistakes.
He should have traits of humility and selflessness. It is important to seek the confidence of the team members, for which it is important that the leader is not egoist. Therefore, it is said that you need to kill your ego before leading others, only, then you can be a successful leader.
