Dealing with poverty requires multi-dimensional approach. Hence, the government of India has introduced many schemes and programs for poverty alleviation. Introduction should explain in general about the initiatives of government and approach.

Further, mention why such initiatives failed. Mention about the loopholes, nexus, lack of political will, playing vote bank politics and after all the lack of awareness among people regarding programs and policies of government.

Talk about various committees established by successive governments in order to alleviate poverty and associated programs as examples.
