opinion/lead/the-upcoming- crisis-in-indian-federalism/ article35311014.ece - In the intro, define federalism.
- In the body, compare the two systems based on the various parameters such as power given to the Centre and states, separate Constitutions for the states, addressing the concerns of small states by providing equal or different representation in the upper house, the election of the President etc.
- In the suggestions, mention giving more power to states, changing the role and composition of the upper house, provision for getting the consent of all state while changing financial redistribution, consider breaking up the bigger states etc.
- Conclude by mentioning that the unity of India is the fundamental premise of federalism, but this unity does not depend on an excessive strong Centre.

Nice attempt. In introduction, first define federalism, then you can write about India’s quasi-federal nature.
Differences mentioned are fine, you can also mention about single citizenship, single judiciary and unified civil and criminal procedure code in India whereas dual citizenship, presence of state judiciary and dual procedure codes in US.
Avoid writing impacts in differences. 2nd point that you have written about India is basically an impact of contradictions between democracy and federalism. You can mention it as a concern for smaller states in India.
In concerns you can also mention about the upcoming 2026 delimitation process which might give advantage to populous states.
Suggestions mentioned are fine. Conclusion is okay.
Read some other answers. Keep practicing. 🙂

Nice attempt. Introduction is fine. You can also briefly mention India’s case- indestructible union of destructible states.
Comparison is good. You can also mention about single citizenship, single judiciary and unified civil and criminal procedure code in India whereas dual citizenship, presence of state judiciary and dual procedure codes in US.
Also, saying need to win ‘most populous states’ is not entirely correct, you can say need to win more seats irrespective of states.
Before writing suggestions, you can mention some concerns for smaller states- inherent contradiction between democracy and federalism as democracy means equal representation of every person but this is disadvantageous for smaller states, also upcoming 2026 delimitation process which might give advantage to populous states.
Suggestions and conclusion are good.
Keep practicing. 🙂
