article/opinion/columns/why- the-russia-west-equation- matters-to-india-7682639/ - In the intro, mention the current tensions between the West and Russia over the Ukraine issue.
- In the body mention how Russia has always influenced modern India’s worldview from the impact of1917 Revolution to following the elements of Soviet model of economic development to deep security ties. In the next part, mention Russia’s tumultuous relationship with the West before and even after 1991 and its impact on India’s foreign policy. In the current context mention rising tension between West but the accommodative stance of the US in the view of China challenge.
- Conclude by mentioning that India can’t influence the new effort to build a mutually acceptable security order in Europe, but it can welcome and support it.

In introduction, mention some current issue related to summit visits between India-Russia or Russia’s annexation of Crimea. Singling out 4 countries responsible for geopolitical order can be avoided- there is a role for countries like Turkey, Israel, other middle Eastern countries too.
Tensions between west and Russia have been written comprehensively. That is good.
In next part, also mention how India has maintained balance in the past too before coming to present scenario, you can briefly mention Russian influence ( economic model, defence cooperation, support in Bang liberation etc) but then also add India’s pragmatic approach( NAM, civil nuclear deal with US etc) and then talk about present times.
Points regarding to present scenario are good, India’s approach can be emphasized by mentioning both Quad as well as BRICS/RIC.
Conclusion is good.
Keep practicing. 🙂

Nandhini,
Good attempt.
Intro is good.
Your understanding of the topic is good, presentation and subheadings are also nice.
Points mentioned in contradictions as well as significance are fine.
Some points regarding the past pragmatic approach(NAM, nuclear deal with US) should be written which can be extended to current times by showing India’s involvement in both Quad as well as BRICS/RIC.
Other points in way forward are good.
Conclusion is fine.
Keep practicing. 🙂
