article/explained/explained- global/india-one-china-stand- relations-with-taiwan-8066647/ - In the intro, mention the escalation of tension over the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.
- In the body, mention the implication of the rising tension between the US and China for East Asia and South East Asia as the countries may be forced to take the side in conflict. For India mention that China’s preoccupation with the Yellow Sea diminishes its attention towards the Indian Ocean. In the approach mention the need for India to stick to its consistent one China policy even while maintaining and even expanding non-official relations with Taiwan.
- Conclude by mentioning that India should use the opportunity to expand India’s naval capabilities and maritime profile in this theatre before the Chinese begin to look to our extended neighbourhood.

In introduction, first line is fine, next mention the Chinese response too to show that Taiwan is caught in a crossfire. You can talk about increased military exercises, naval presence etc
Next, before talking about India, mention some general implications for the region such as countries are getting forced into making a choice. On one hand most of them tacitly approve the military presence of US in the region while on the other most of them have strong economic ties with China.
Next part is decent, implications on India are fine. China’s preoccupation with its eastern ocean flank of the Yellow Sea, the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea is good for India- can be mentioned.
In India’s approach, you cannot say that China has got a pretext to attack India, avoid making such extreme statements that too in enemy’s favour..you can just mention the need to strengthen the offensive-defensive capabilities and need for cooperation with like minded countries in the region.
Next, you can also mention that India can be consistent with its one China policy even while maintaining and even expanding non-official relations with Taiwan. Approach to the whole situation needs to be mentioned, not just to China.
Also, write a concluding statement, you can underscore the need to expand India’s naval capabilities and maritime profile in this theatre before the Chinese begin to look to our extended neighbourhood.
Keep practicing. 🙂

Hello
In the first part rather than mentioning what scholars think about the issue, first mention what is the issue.. Need to elaborate on how Taiwan is caught in a cross fire… Mention the US house speaker’s visit and then the Chinese response to it in the form of increased military exercises, naval presence etc
Next, before talking about implications on India, mention some general implications for the region such as countries are getting forced into making a choice. On one hand most of them tacitly approve the military presence of US in the region while on the other most of them have strong economic ties with China.
Implications on India first para is basically India’s approach and not implications, next two points are fine. Further, China’s preoccupation with its eastern ocean flank of the Yellow Sea, the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea is good news for India- can be mentioned. Also, impact on foreign policy choices between China and US can be mentioned.
Approach part is fine but a bit generic vis a vis China, approach to this particular issue can be mentioned- need to be consistent with its one China policy even while maintaining and even expanding non-official relations with Taiwan.
Also, write a concluding statement, you can underscore the need to expand India’s naval capabilities and maritime profile in this theatre before the Chinese begin to look to our extended neighbourhood.
Keep practicing. 🙂
