- In the body, mention that strategic legacy acts as a glue between the two nations. In contemporary political issues mention India’s interests in maintaining multipolar order in the region, India’s defence ties with Russia for defence equipment, convergence in the area of energy, the prospect of cooperation in the area of food security etc. In the area of divergence mention Russia’s position in Afghanistan, India’s growing tilt towards the US, India’s positions on Indo-Pacific etc.
- Conclude by mentioning the need for India to tread the path of balancing the relations as India seeks growing engagement with the US.

Decent attempt, you have covered broader issues but some elaboration is required at places.
Intro is fine, however, there is more than ‘just a room’ for convergence.
In areas of convergence, you should first mention historical ties(Russian support during 1971 war, defence equipment- all of this despite India being a part of NAM)
Rest of the points are good.
In divergence too, points like Afghanistan issue can be explained a bit- different positions. India on the side of Quad in Indo-Pacific which is not to Russia’s liking can be mentioned. Some more light can also be shed on Russia-China axis, mentioning example of Chinese position on the current crisis.
Conclusion is good.
Keep practicing. 🙂
