opinion/op-ed/the-president- is-not-a-mere-rubber-stamp/ article65635390.ece - In the intro, mention the nature of debate in the Constituent Assembly on the election method.
- In the body, explain the method and how population of India is represented in the total votes rather than one member one vote. In the next part, mention the implications of such wider base.
- Conclude by mentioning that with the moral authority reposed in the President he can intervene on behalf of citizenry against the tyranny of the executive.

Hello
People’s presence is still there in the process of election of president…need to explain how..in later part what you have written are implications of direct elections..
Intro is fine, method of election is also explained.. in 2nd point talk about the value of vote of an MP and an MLA and how population is factored into it..value of vote of MLA= population of state/total MLAs of the state * 1000
In next part, first, mention some positive implications of involvement of the population too.. can intervene on behalf of the citizenry against the tyranny of the executive, can counsel and caution the cabinet etc..then, you can talk about the negatives..
Conclusion is fine.
Keep practicing. 🙂

Introduction looks more like an intro for question related to EC.
Here, you can mention about the debate in constituent assembly regarding method of presidential election( direct vs proportional representation).
Next part about election of president is fine, mention winning criteria( 50%+1)..implications are fine too.. However, mention some of the moral implications of involvement of population- president can intervene on behalf of the citizenry against the tyranny of the executive, can counsel and caution the cabinet etc
Conclusion is fine.
Keep practicing. 🙂
