opinion/op-ed/a-bubbles-of- trust-approach/ article37167231.ece - In the intro, mention how China took advantage of the open nature of the global economy while keeping its own economy partially open at its best. Mention that the Chinese market was never open to foreign companies in the way foreign markets are to Chinese firms. In the implications mention growing distrust towards globalisation. In the way forward mention the bubble of trust approach.
- Conclude by mentioning that the approach would allow countries to manage their dependencies on China while simultaneously developing a new vision for the global economy.

Siddharth,
Nice attempt. The part about China’s gains through asymmetric globalisation is well-written. Introduction is good too.
However, mention some points about implications of growing distrust of globalisation- policies of protectionism, self-reliance, tariff wars, technological sovereignty etc
Way forward is fine too, mention about ‘bubbles of trust’ approach (mentioned in the article attached)- will give you some brownie points- countries with convergence of values and geopolitical interests can cooperate on trade front, technology, innovation, human capital etc and then expand it to like minded countries. Example of Quad will be good.
Other points are good, conclusion is okay.
Keep writing. 🙂

I think you have got asymmetric globalisation wrong here- asymmetric globalisation here means how Chinese market was never open to foreign companies in the way foreign markets are to Chinese firms. Poverty and inequality are drawbacks of globalisation which is being faced by many nations.
Factors that helped China are fine, mention how foreign media, technology and software companies etc have always been walled out of Chinese markets.
After that, answer has become a bit like IR answer, bubbles of trust approach is nicely written, example of Quad is also good, but don’t make it only about that- you can also mention things like revival of multilateral organisations like WTO, trade agreements between other like-minded countries/groupings etc
Conclusion is fine.
Keep writing. 🙂

Hello,
Please mention reference ID for further reviews.
Your attempt is nice, asymmetric globalisation is well explained, you can give some data about China’s economic rise to substantiate your point. Also, mention how it prevented foreign media, foreign technology and software companies etc from entering Chinese markets.
In implications of growing distrust of globalisation you have written only through the China prism. You can also mention how it is effecting policy-making in other countries too via policies of protectionism, self-reliance, tariff wars, technological sovereignty etc. Other points are good.
Way forward is also fine, in 1st point you can mention ‘bubbles of trust’ i.e. trusting countries with convergence of values and geopolitical interests. Other points are good, revival and reforms in organisations such as WTO can be talked about.
Concluding statement would be nice. Keep writing. 🙂

Nandhini,
Introduction is good, make a bit concise..you can directly start with asymmetric globalisation. Points regarding how China used to its favor are well -written, you can mention some data about China’s economic rise to substantiate your point (GDP, wealth etc).
In implications of growing distrust of globalisation you have written only through the China prism. You can also mention how it is effecting other countries via policies of protectionism, self-reliance, tariff wars, technological sovereignty etc
Way forward is good, some points can be added like revival of multilateral organisations like WTO, trade agreements between other like-minded countries/groupings etc. Pick good points from the article but don’t limit yourself to it. Try to make the answer more diverse.
Also, a concluding statement would be nice.
Keep writing. 🙂

Nice attempt. Introduction is good. In the body, first elaborate a bit on how China used asymmetric globalisation- high exports, cheap labour, use of global patents, infrastructure building etc. Also, mention how it prevented foreign media, foreign technology and software companies etc from entering Chinese markets.
Implications part is well-written. Way forward is also good. You can also talk about the need to revive multilateral organisations like WTO etc. Pick good points from the article but don’t limit yourself to it. Try to make the answer more diverse.
Conclusion is fine, keep writing. 🙂
